　　10年前，白兰（宋佳 饰）女儿铃铛被绑架并意外身亡，重案组警官陈浩（王千源 饰）许诺孩子母亲一定将凶手绳之以法。无奈经过漫长的追查却一无所获，陈浩带着遗憾离开警队。10年后，陈浩偶然间发现新线索，身患绝症的白兰重拾希望，决心为女寻凶，两人展开调查并发现了罪犯留下的蛛丝马迹。与此同时，李爱军（冯远征 饰）外孙女也遭人绑架，绑架手法跟10年前如出一辙，面对狡猾的嫌犯，陈浩和白兰能否抓到凶手，一偿夙愿…

　　2年前，科幻小说家大卫·戈登（约翰·库萨克 John Cusack 饰）遭受了丧妻之痛，时间并未抚平他心中的伤口，反倒令其愈感空虚。为了排遣心中的孤独，大卫决定收养一个小孩，当然这个决定遭到周围亲友的质疑和反对。不顾他人的意见，大卫领养了名叫丹尼斯（鲍比·科尔曼 Bobby Coleman 饰）的小男孩。丹尼斯虽然清秀可爱，性格却非常古怪。他自称来自火星，终日躲在纸盒子里，不与其他小朋友玩耍，喜欢用没有胶卷的相机拍照。丹尼斯的到来为大卫的生活注入活力，也为他带来久违的爱情。而随着生活的继续，大卫却发现与火星男孩的相处实非易事……

　　54岁的凉子（中山美穗 饰）是一名小说家，一天，她突然被医生诊断患上了阿兹海默症，面对可怕的病魔，凉子决定利用自己所剩不多的时间，完成她人生中的最后一部小说。在写小说之余，凉子在大学里担任讲师的职务，一次下课后，凉子和学生们来到居酒屋小聚，在那里邂逅了名为昌海（金材昱 饰）的韩国留学生。
　　昌海的谈吐和三观都和同龄人不同，这点深深的吸引着凉子，让她想要了解这个男孩脑袋里的所思所想。凉子的手无法移动，于是她拜托昌海来成为自己的双手，帮助自己写作。在此过程中，两人之间产生了真挚的感情。但是凉子知道，这份感情不可能有一个美满的结局。

　　Howard Hughes（Leonardo DiCaprio 饰）出生于美国德州休士顿，18岁时，他继承父亲德州油井的财富，心怀电影梦想移居好莱坞。1926年他买入125家戏院的控制权，砸下数百万美金拍了实景空战史诗电影《地狱天使》，成为著名的制片人；1939年，他入主环球航空公司，他迅速使公司扭亏为盈，二战期间与美国军方合作，主持了蓝云杉飞机的发明和改进。
　　Howard Hughes在事业上取得巨大成功的同时，他也饱受了忧郁症和精神官能强迫症的折磨；他的感情生活波折重重，Katharine Hepburn（Cate Blanchett 饰）、Ava Gardner（Kate Beckinsale 饰）先后离开他，让他备受打击。
　　影片选取Howard Hughes重要的生活事件，真实地再现了他的传奇。

　　珍珠港事件后为了鼓舞士气，美国时任总统下令轰炸东京。在任务完成后，由于燃油耗尽，杰克·特纳上尉以及他的队员迫降在中国浙江省境内。英子和她女儿无意中发现了昏迷的杰克，尽管冒着极大的生命危险，英子依然没有放弃这位需要救助的美国人。尽管他们语言不通，但这段感情注定将会影响他 们一生。

The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family__APOS__s history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it__APOS__s the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family__APOS__s world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe__APOS__s clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 　　就在玛丽和布里克准备结婚的前一夜，电影院发生了可怕的抢劫案，三名劫匪在打死了一名电影院员工之后开着出租车逃跑了。警方立刻对附近的所有出租车司机展开了排查，其中也包括布里克和乔。哪知道，在场的十一位目击证人全部指认布里克和乔就是抢劫犯，两人锒铛入狱。为了证明丈夫的清白，玛丽四处奔波搜集证据，却遭到了警方的阻挠。
