　　片中叙述的是抗日战争时期，新婚不久便“守寡”的果儿（张镝饰演）在逃亡途中被猎户高满山（战卫华饰演）搭救，日久生情，俩人结为夫妻。后来高满山救了一位负伤的八路军战士，果儿认出他就是三年前“死去”的丈夫李顺红（李明阳饰演）。一时间三个人陷入感情纠葛之中，但民族大义最终战胜了儿女情长。

　　故事发生在华盛顿的一家新闻电视台之中。珍妮（霍利·亨特 Holly Hunter 饰）是就职于其中的新闻节目制作人，恪尽职守的她拥有强烈的道德感和责任心，是制作组内的中坚力量。在一次采访中，播报员汤姆（威廉·赫特 William Hurt 饰）竟被采访对象感动留下了泪水，这让珍妮感到大为震撼，不禁倾心于汤姆的善良和单纯。
　　艾伦（艾伯特·布鲁克斯 Albert Brooks 饰）是珍妮的搭档，在他眼中，汤姆的流泪是一场彻头彻尾的骗局和表演，然而并没有人相信他。电视台裁员在即，不通人情世故的艾伦惨遭辞退，而精明又圆滑的汤姆反而节节攀升。幸运的是，最终，事实证明了汤姆的虚伪，也让珍妮做出了正确的选择。

　　1990年代，某城市。歌手阿兰（何晴 饰）对当下流行音乐有着独到的体悟和见解，她渴望在演出中张扬自己的个性，唱出自己的风格。但签约公司对她的发展前景与包装理念与她本人的想法格格不入，令她十分纠结。阿兰的男友江伦（胡军 饰）要求她顺应公司的安排，不要标新立异，更使她感觉苦恼。一个偶然的机会，阿兰邂逅某广告公司许宁（李亚鹏 饰），俩人顿感有似曾相识的感觉。许宁帅气豁达谈吐优雅，他了解阿兰苦衷后，耐心向她讲述了守桥将士的英勇壮举和义薄云天的感人故事。阿兰出神的听着，被许宁的讲述完全打动了。她应邀去部队为战士们演出，感到自己的艺术才华得到了最大程度的量化......

　　久利生公平（木村拓哉 饰）再次归来！前往极其和平的小镇赴任的检察官公平迎来了新的同事也迎来了间隔11年之久的杀人事件。
　　不拘小节行事怪异的公平让他的同事泉谷（绫濑遥 饰）和津轻保（堤真一 饰）很是不习惯且难以配合。而这起杀人事件的嫌疑犯被调查出来，竟然是镇上的产业大户泷田明彦（中井贵一 饰）。镇上的人们都不相信平日里为人极好的明彦会是杀人凶手，而公平却渐渐捕捉到了些许异样之处，起初遭到了泉谷等的反对和不相信，但随着和公平相处时间的加深，大家慢慢接受了这个看似怪异的检察官，而来自镇上的阻力能否被公平给攻破，最终调查出事情的真相呢？

警官卢卡斯，追踪导致阿尔坦和路易丝，一对离婚夫妇情绪化的公路旅行，当阿尔坦把路易丝作为人质与他的女儿团聚。他们在炎热的夏天穿越了瑞典的乡村，一路上都有警察跟在后面

　　民国年间。上海，太仓镇。
　　颜雯（黄圣依 饰）是小镇男人心中垂涎欲滴的高岭之花，出身中药世家、父慈母爱、还有个富有的留洋未婚夫金仁（杨子 饰）。然而，一切美好如烟花一般，因一晚误会消失贻尽。那夜，颜雯被金仁诱骗失去贞操，谣言四起，最终演变为落魄的戏子狗子强奸 颜雯，孰真孰假陷入罗生门。
　　结果，颜雯被金仁抛弃，一夜之间从天堂跌落地狱，一朵美丽的茉莉花黯然凋落。然而，噩运并未就此罢手，孽种的出世，狗子的身份之谜，让颜雯再度陷入宿命纠缠的漩涡之中，女人如花，花如梦，终是空……

The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family__APOS__s history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it__APOS__s the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family__APOS__s world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe__APOS__s clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 　　查理（尼古拉斯•凯奇）是个善良、温和、喜欢孩子的好警察，却有一个虚荣自私的妻子，他们像所有不搭调的夫妻一样吵闹不断，但是查理总是忍让。一天查理的妻子说梦见父亲并认定有特殊含义，叮嘱查理买彩票。善良的查理在早餐中没有钱付给伊娃小费，就约定如果彩票中了奖就一人分一半，如果没中奖则第二天来把小费补上。没有当真的伊娃没料到奇迹的事情发生了，查理的彩票一下子中了四百万美元巨奖！信守承诺的查理把一半的奖金分给了伊娃，让伊娃从此摆脱了破产穷困的生活，尽管惹来妻子的牢骚不满。晋身富豪的妻子在上流社会谈笑风生，而查理与同样善良热情的伊娃越走越近。妻子把二人告上法庭，要回属于自己的财产，查理与伊娃败诉。打算离开这个城市的二人最后一夜在自己的咖啡店相处，给了雨夜中毫无分文的黑人一碗热汤。这个在纽约城打拼了十年的黑人记者把这一夜的经历写在报纸上，全纽约城的人都知道了这对善良人的故事，纷纷给他们寄来自己的小费。信件如雪片，查理和伊娃靠着全纽约城善良人们的小费，赎回了自己的咖啡店，过上了幸福的生活。

　　春天，贪玩的童僧拿着石头，绑在鱼、青蛙和蛇身上，捉弄着小生灵们。老僧（吴永洙饰）发现后，用同样的手法惩罚他，告诫他不可胡来。
　　夏天，十七岁的少僧（徐在京饰）为久居深山的修行日子苦闷不已。有一天，一名患病少女（何丽珍饰）在母亲陪同下，来到寺庙拜佛求平安，并留下疗养。少年开 始忍受不住异性相吸所带来的诱惑……
　　秋天，青年（金永敏饰）在外面杀人后重返寺庙，请求谅解。老僧命其刻写心经，去掉罪孽，同时，追捕逃犯的警察也赶到寺庙……
　　冬天，服完刑期的中年男子（金基德饰）回到山中寺庙，重新开始修行苦练。一名妇女突然探访寺庙，并留下了一个男婴，希望能被收留。
　　之后，又一个春天到来。
