马戏团的大象在一次表演中无法站立，因此马戏团决定放弃这头大象而继续前往巴黎表演。在马戏团工作的女孩也被团长遗下，和运送大象去安乐死的货车司机，一路前行。一路上大象带给途人无数欢乐，而只有女孩和司机知道它的命运……

　　故事发生在1900年的美国南方，瑞吉娜（贝蒂·戴维斯 Bette Davis 饰）和她的兄弟们都以贪婪而著称，他们决定合伙投资一个工厂项目，这个项目可以给他们带来巨额财富，却对当地居民无益甚至是压榨。由于瑞吉娜并没有足够多的钱，于是她将目标放到了自己的丈夫霍勒斯（赫伯特·马歇尔 Herbert Marshall 饰）的身上，派出了二人的独女亚历珊德拉（特雷莎·怀特 Teresa Wright 饰）请回了因重病在外地疗养的霍勒斯。 然而霍勒斯识破了瑞吉娜的用意，拒绝了投资，而她贪婪的兄弟们竟因此铤而走险。

　　电影改编自日本作家重松清2009年出版的同名小说。健一的女儿美纪出生后不久，妻子朋子就突然因病去世，留下了健一和美纪两人相依为命。妻子的双亲劝他再婚，并想把孙女美纪接到自己的身边抚养，但是健一还是决定以一己之力照顾女儿。从托儿所到小学毕业，季节流转中所捕捉到的，是单亲爸爸的奋斗和女儿成长中留下的足迹。尽管这十年里，健一的生活中出现过愿意成为美纪母亲的女性，但对亡妻的情感让健一迟迟无法做出决定。这是一个讲述“被留下来的人们”，和围绕着这对父女的善良的人们之间暖心交流的感人故事。

　　Copenhagen, Feburary 14, 2015. On an icy cold winter__APOS__s day, a terrorist attack is carried out, targeting first an event on freedom of speech at the cultural centre “Krudttønden” and then the synagogue of Copenhagen during a bat mitzvah.

　　Howard Hughes（Leonardo DiCaprio 饰）出生于美国德州休士顿，18岁时，他继承父亲德州油井的财富，心怀电影梦想移居好莱坞。1926年他买入125家戏院的控制权，砸下数百万美金拍了实景空战史诗电影《地狱天使》，成为著名的制片人；1939年，他入主环球航空公司，他迅速使公司扭亏为盈，二战期间与美国军方合作，主持了蓝云杉飞机的发明和改进。
　　Howard Hughes在事业上取得巨大成功的同时，他也饱受了忧郁症和精神官能强迫症的折磨；他的感情生活波折重重，Katharine Hepburn（Cate Blanchett 饰）、Ava Gardner（Kate Beckinsale 饰）先后离开他，让他备受打击。
　　影片选取Howard Hughes重要的生活事件，真实地再现了他的传奇。

　　第一次世界大战的末期，美国派兵赴欧洲参战，富家子弟吉姆(约翰·吉尔伯特 饰)也加入了军队，在部队中跟建筑工人出身的斯利姆和酒保布尔很快成为了好友。部队在法国登陆，驻扎在一个小村庄里。在那里，吉姆认识了法国村姑梅丽桑德(蕾妮·阿多莉 饰)，两人很快燃起了爱火。不久，部队奉命开赴前线，吉姆被迫离去。梅丽桑德在军用卡车后紧追不舍，吉姆脱下军靴抛给她，表达自己对她的爱意。
　　在前线，炮火密集，吉姆、斯利姆和布尔躲在炮弹坑中十分着急。经过抽签，由斯利姆冲出坑外对付敌人的大炮。炮声停止了，但斯利姆一直没有回来。吉姆十分担心，往敌阵中寻找，果然发现了斯利姆的尸体。
　　美军进行大规模反攻，吉姆奋勇作战，结果因腿部中弹而住进野战医院。在那里，他听说梅丽桑德所在的村庄处境十分危险，于是偷偷溜出医院赶到村庄，却发现该地已成一片废墟……

　　心高气傲的年轻女子曹俐（秦海璐饰）本想一探外面的世界，一路从深圳打拼到光鲜亮丽的大都市上海。背井离乡的曹俐，努力逃离她失败的婚姻和生意经营的失败。然而她却仍生活在社会的最底层。她与中年妇女谢琴（唐群饰）合租在两平米不到的简陋小房内，每日疲于奔命地打工挣钱。同乡狗哥骗来一辆旧巴士，邀曹俐入伙推销阜阳返乡车票，哄骗二十八个阿姨乘车返乡。虽然离上海老家只有六百里，但她依旧不敢踏上回家的路。
　　本部仅用18天就拍摄完成、低成本制作的影片《到阜阳六百里》，用一个冥冥中自有注定的安排，结合了一连串看似善意的骗局，讲述了一段欺骗中常存温暖的回家故事。本片不仅入围2011年第48届台湾电影金马奖最佳剧情片提名，荣获第48届台湾电影金马奖最佳原著剧本、最佳女配角大奖，导演邓勇星更凭借此片获得第14届上海国际电影节亚洲新人奖的最佳导演，主演秦海璐荣获第18届北京大学生电影节和第13届华语电影传媒大奖双料最佳女主角大奖。

The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family__APOS__s history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it__APOS__s the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family__APOS__s world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe__APOS__s clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. Es kommt wie es kommen muss: Zwischen den beiden Sturköpfen entbrennt ein wüster Wettstreit, um die schönste Weihnachtsbeleuchtung und um den begehrten 1. Platz im jährlichen Deko-Wettbewerb der kleinen Stadt. Doch während des bizarren Konkurrenzkampfs der Eltern bahnt sich zwischen ihren Teenager-Kindern eine scheue Liebe an. Besinnlichen Weihnachtsfeiertagen steht nichts im Wege.
